Jupiter and Neptune are coming together at the last degree of Sidereal Aquarius on Apr 12, 2022, just before both move into Pisces. Jupiter enters Pisces on Apr 13, followed by Neptune on Apr 18.
This is good news in terms of the possibility of feeling more hope and optimism, of feeling more connected to one another. Yet it suggests the potential for being disconnected from reality on some level, or simply wishing to tune out for a while. We may favour some fantasy over what is real.
But what is real, anyway? Taking certain drugs can show us what is more real, in a sense. Yet I imagine this conjunction may be like a bad trip at times, where we don't know who to believe. It could get very confusing.
Thankfully, Saturn will keep an eye on proceedings for the most part. But there is a period between Apr 28 and Jul 13 when Saturn takes its eye off the ball. I think this period shows the potential for some wild times, complete hedonism. We may end up paranoid and disconnected when coming down off this high.
Even if you don’t personally ‘’party like it’s 1999’’, you may have an ideal that never reaches dry land. We must be connected to our inner guide, to be able to tell what is real, and what can be made real. And we must be on guard for deluding ourselves.
Here's Comes the Flood
Jupiter-Neptune in Pisces may show a mass movement, or the movement of masses of people, possibly due to some disaster or other, like a major catastrophic flood.
Jupiter-Neptune connections have shown flooding historically, when in opposition or in conjunction, especially when they impact the water signs.
The '’Great Mississippi flood’’ took place in 1927, when Jupiter and Neptune conjoined in Aquarius - not a water sign but the sign of the '’water-bearer’'. They come together once again in this sign in April, before moving into Pisces, the ‘wateriest’ of water signs.
In 1919, Jupiter and Neptune came together within a couple of degrees of Mars in Cancer. This timed the Florida Keys hurricane, bringing with it a devastating flood. Mars was a big part of the destruction, as it was earlier in the year when in January an exalted Mars in Capricorn opposed Neptune in Cancer. That was when the ‘’Great Molasses Flood’’ took place.
Jupiter had not joined Neptune until later that year but was conjunct Pluto in Gemini at the time. Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions are a whole other ballgame, reflected in major disasters and pandemics throughout history. The Great Molasses Flood was interesting as Jupiter rules the sweet taste. Literally, molasses flooded the streets of Boston, killing 21 people and injuring 150.
Pluto is the '’lord of death'’, and of course the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction of 1918-1919 was part of the planetary line-up during the Spanish Flu.
In 1919, Jupiter moved into Cancer, where it is exalted, and although this showed the massive destruction due to the hurricane in Texas, it did show the end of the pandemic and a more hopeful view of the future. It led to the 'roaring 20s’. This is good news for us in 2022 in terms of our current pandemic, especially by the time Jupiter and Neptune make it to Pisces by mid-April.
While I don't think we're going to see a roaring 2020s (there are too many other issues), I do think that Jupiter's ingress into Pisces will show a more hopeful period.
And while actual flooding is one of the most obvious expressions of a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius and Pisces, it may also a torrent of emotions, a release of the pent-up feelings that have not had an outlet. Gone is the stoic, aloof expressions of Jupiter in Saturn's signs, and in comes a tsunami of feelings that need a healthy outlet.
Jupiter will cast an aspect on Cancer, Virgo and Scorpio while in Pisces, bringing healing to places that have been challenged in recent times, especially in terms of healthcare, and care in general.
Cancer represents our feelings of safety. Saturn and Pluto's aspect has been challenging any sense of safety. Jupiter's aspect can bring relief. Together with the fact that Ketu leaves Scorpio at the same time Jupiter enters Pisces in April, we may see a release of trauma that needs to be expressed in ways other than drinking ourselves into a stupor.

The Great Illusionist
Neptune is the great illusionist. It is right at home in Pisces, as it is given rulership of Pisces in modern astrology. And while that can be great for many things, there are some pitfalls to be mindful of. If the illusionist is feeling right at home, it can do a better job of deceiving!
Pisces may be the sign that allows us to connect with one another, with The One that we all are, but it may show a disconnect from day-to-day realities. It's that trip that helps you see things clearly for the first time, but then, you cannot tie your shoelaces.
Pisces is opposite Virgo, a sign that is all about dealing with our everyday lives. Pisces doesn't wish to get too bogged down in the details. It wants to see the whole picture.
As a result, Pisces individuals can take on board everyone's issues, so there is a need for self-care.
When Pisces is activated in a big way, we may get very confused, meaning 'fused with'. This blending means we also must be mindful of our individual needs. Pisces may surrender too much for the sake of the whole, which leads to a need for personal retreat eventually.
Jupiter and Neptune's conjunction may show an ideal state we are reaching for, or a need to tune out of harsh realities, with drugs, technology, sex, whatever, just so we can feel connected to something beyond the everyday.
The positive side of Pisces is a sense of connection to others that has been lacking in 2020 and 2021. We need this more than anything. I'm not just referring to seeing people. I'm referring to really feeling connected to others.
The greatest illusion is that we are somehow disconnected in the first place.
What could make us feel more connected? Well, maybe it's an event that brings us together, or a movement. Hopefully, it won't take another disaster.
Jupiter and Neptune’s upcoming conjunction has some great potential, apart from the more obvious pitfalls. Mystical visions, spiritual reorientations, as well as ''spiritual bypassing'', space exploration and new discoveries, 'bad trips', and new drugs, psychedelics for mental healthcare, propaganda, paranoia, out of this world art and events - all of these are possible with Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces. The list is endless, I guess - it is Pisces, after all!
When anything and everything is possible, we must be mindful of focusing on what we would like to make real, one thing at a time.
We must be mindful of how we impact everyone and everything, whatever we are doing. But whatever ideal state or world we would choose for ourselves, remember that one person's utopia is another person's dystopia.
Personal Experiences
How you experience this conjunction will depend on where Pisces is in your birth chart.
You may experience it in your relationships (Virgo), or at work (Gemini), or you may have a personal epiphany (Pisces), or unexpected change in your life (Leo). Whatever it is, stay open for more possibilities than you ever thought possible. At the same time, be open to being duped.
Just because Jupiter is strong in Pisces doesn't mean it cannot deceive you when conjunct Neptune. It may do an even better job of it!
We must be on guard for fooling ourselves, and everyone else.
If you have Virgo rising or Moon sign, for example, you may have an out of this world connection to someone else that makes you feel things you've never felt before, but you also must be open to deceiving yourself about the person you just met.
Be on your guard for paranoia, and even propaganda, and for deceiving yourself in the areas impacted in your life.
Include Sagittarius in your deliberations. Jupiter’s conjunction with the ‘great illusionist’ dissolves strongly held beliefs into an already overflowing pot.
