Venus continues to transit Taurus into May, offering a sweeter period in the year despite the volatility of other transits. This may feel like a mixed bag, bringing both a sense of ease and challenges.
We may find ourselves seeking pleasure where we can, especially amid turbulence in the world or in our personal lives. There can be a tendency to overindulge as a way to cope or reward ourselves, so it’s worth being mindful of excess. May brings further complex influences, particularly with the ongoing Mars–Saturn–Neptune combination in Pisces, which can scatter energy and create uncertainty about how to act. Feelings of unease deserve attention, and the urge for release is understandable. Yet Mars will move out of the uncertainty of Pisces by May 11 and step into Aries for a more energised period. Until then, the Sun remains strong in Aries through the first half of the month, supporting confidence and clarity. By the time Mars moves in, it adds a renewed sense of courage and initiative. Yet we cannot ignore the most obvious potential of having Mars freed from the restriction and uncertainty of Saturn and Neptune in Pisces; that is, fighting in Aries. Once energy and motivation return, we’re all going to feel it. In the world at large, we could see more warring. With Mars in strength for the next few weeks, we’re building into a more volatile period, which, by the time Mars meets with Uranus in July, sets things off in a more volatile way. No transit exists in a void, so we must factor Mars’ transit through Aries into what’s going to happen in July. Typically, this means wars (Aries) leading to issues with recourses (Taurus). In our personal lives, this means arguments that can lead to relationship issues and changes. It’s not all bad, of course. Mars in Aries is good for just doing it. And because Venus is in Taurus and Gemini during this period, with Mercury moving into Taurus by mid-May, this bodes well for being able to do the necessary, while being able to compromise. As Mercury enters Taurus on May 14, Venus enters Gemini, which means they are exchanging signs. This bodes well for negotiating the best terms for all parties involved, even if Mars disrupts the process. We’re heading into a more positive period by the end of May, as Mercury, Venus, and Mars line up in strength. By the time Jupiter enters Cancer in June, making May the last month Jupiter transits Gemini, we're in an even better place, even if it requires an uprising from how things have been.
