October 2026 Forecast

October is a tense and sobering time, as we head into the most complex period of the year: November. This occurs as Mars transits Cancer, opposite Pluto, aspecting Venus in Libra, while the Sun opposes Saturn before slipping into Libra from mid-October, with Venus retrograde in the sign and Mercury about to retrograde at the end of the month, all aspected by a fallen Mars in Cancer.

Venus returns to Virgo by November, where it is also fallen. Thankfully, its retrograde motion creates a ‘double negative’, mitigating some of its weakness. Mercury in Libra exchanges with Venus in Virgo in November, which creates another mitigating factor for Venus.

Still, I do not wish to sugar-coat the situation. Economic and diplomatic tensions are likely throughout the month, and more so in November, likely because of an attack of some kind.

Mars in Cancer continues to ‘attack’ Venus in Libra, adding further conflict because of the likely immature reactions. The Sun joining Venus in Libra may benefit the Sun more than Venus. Despite the Sun’s weakness, leaders may fare better than expected. I’m not so sure about diplomacy.

October marks the beginning of a major downturn affecting the wider population, with likely consequences for the economy as the mood drops.  

By the end of the month, Jupiter leaves its exaltation and crosses the sensitive juncture between Cancer and Leo (gandanta), adding further volatility in the weather and the world at large. Whether this is immediately reflected in the economy remains to be seen. As for the stock markets, they seem so divorced from the wider economy that I have no idea what to write about them.

With Mars following Jupiter into Leo by mid-November, conjoining the South Node (Ketu), a big event is likely to shake the world. This may be an attack on or by a leader, an escalation in a war, a cyber threat, or a major weather or seismic event.  

In the lead-up to this event, we’re all likely feeling the tension build in October. A sense of foreboding is likely, and it increases as the Sun enters Libra from mid-October.

As Mercury stations by the end of the month, the many complications begin to pile up and demand further attention.
