FAQ
What is Vedic Astrology?
Vedic astrology is a term used to describe Jyotish, or the 'science of light', traditionally practiced on the Indian subcontinent. Although I offer a modern approach to an ancient system, incorporating the 'modern planets', Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, I always refer to tradition, and how I remedy modern life challenges.

What kinds of questions can I ask in a reading?
You may ask anything you like, either before your reading in the request form or during the reading itself. I encourage you to ask questions any time one arises. I always leave time at the end of a reading for questions. I am usually asked about topics such as health, relationships and career, but anything can come up in a reading, and you are free to be as specific or as general as you like. There are, however, some things I will not speak about with a client, even though I may give guidance in relation to these. This includes your time of death, disease or divorce.

Can you answer specific questions?
Yes. I prefer you to be as specific as possible in your questions so I can answer them more specifically. Occasionally, I get requests for general readings, but I always end up asking the client to be more specific. For example, if you state that you would like to know about your relationships, I may ask you to be specific by asking what you would like to know. The more specific you are, the more specific the reading.

What do you need from me to calculate my birth chart?
I will just need your exact time, date and place of birth to calculate your correct birth chart. If you do not know your time of birth, and it cannot be retrieved from relatives or hospital records, I can work with an approximate time.

Can you predict my future?
Yes. Be aware, that even if I do not look into your future, anything we are looking at in your life has happened subsequent to your birth. So, in essence, everything in an astrology reading is a prediction! The more accurate your time of birth, the more accurate the predictions.

Do you give remedies?
Yes. The remedial measures I give are practical and useful. This may include lifestyle changes that offer support. Occasionally, I offer tantrik techniques if the client is willing to work with these.

What is the difference between Western and Vedic Astrology?
There are many differences and similarities between both systems. I prefer to use the calculations of Vedic astrology, as well as the spiritual dimensions. I find Vedic astrology to be more holistic, as remedial measures form a big part of a consultation.
Modern Western astrology looks at the planetary aspects a lot, whereas Vedic astrology looks at sign divisions more, as sign placements have changed since ancient calculations because of the Procession of the Equinoxes. Vedic astrology looks at aspects also, using planetary and sign aspects. Vedic astrology has an intricate predictive technique based on lunar mansions and planetary cycles that are my preferred techniques. I find these to be the most useful in my life and for my clients.
I like to compare the difference between both systems to the difference between modern yoga and Pilates. Whichever system of movement you choose, the most important thing is not to confuse the two, even if one borrows techniques from the other.
