Jupiter moves into sidereal Taurus on May 1, 2024, with Uranus entering the sign on June 1, a few weeks after their conjunction in Aries on April 20.
Are things about to come together or fall apart? Sometimes, things must fall apart before people are brought together.
Nuclear fission is the process of splitting a nucleus into two while nuclear fusion combines two nuclei. Both create energy but for different purposes: one to destroy and one to create. The question is: Will Jupiter-Uranus feel like fission or fusion, a breaking apart or a coming together?
In Taurus, Jupiter and Uranus ‘trine’ Pluto and Ketu (South Node) transiting the other earth signs Capricorn and Virgo. This suggests changes are more easily implemented as systems continue to break down, but it may speed the process up, leading to a chain reaction.
This may bring about new energy systems, and systems in general, to tackle the breakdown of the current power structures. This suggest changes to the banking systems, or even a new currency.
Pluto in sidereal Capricorn continues to challenge and change the way we work these things out while Ketu removes the things that no longer work.
With Jupiter and Uranus about to step into Taurus hand in hand, it's time for a change.
A chain reaction takes place. Life keeps moving forward, whatever happens. Whether we view it as things breaking apart to form something new, or forming something new when things break apart, makes all the difference, I guess.
For something new to be initiated, there’s a certain amount of chaos in the beginning. Eventually, it settles down into a more manageable situation.

Fission or Fusion?
Are we about to see a breakthrough in ‘free, clean energy’ through advancements being made with nuclear fusion, or are we about to squander an opportunity?
Fusion is the process that powers the sun and other stars, providing the energy that supports life on Earth. Fusion research aims to develop power as a clean and abundant energy source but it is still largely experimental and not yet commercially viable.
As I write (March 2024), Mars is moving through sidereal Capricorn in a square to Jupiter and Uranus in Aries, and nuclear fusion seems to have taken a leap forward.
Saturn’s concurrent aspect from Aquarius shows the potential to contain the energy and work with it in new and innovative ways.
I can think of no more positive expression of these transits and aspects than of free energy, although I can think of many more not so utopian indications.
Kṛttikā
Kṛttikā lunar mansion is ruled by Agni, the Vedic ‘god of fire’. It’s all about energy and how we channel it, how we take the raw energy of the initiatory Aries and use it for our well-being in Taurus.
For this reason, I believe Kṛttikā reflects the energy grid, although I haven’t heard other astrologers point this obvious correlation out. It was during a Saturn, Ketu, and Pluto transit in Kṛttikā on September 4, 1882 that the earliest overhead electricity lines in New York City were installed.
With Jupiter and Uranus meeting in this lunar mansion in 2024, and Saturn and Ketu meeting here by 2030, we’re likely to see some new developments in energy distribution, one way or another. This may be due to issues with the power grid, of course.
But these conjunctions highlight other, darker themes apart from energy distribution. The previous time Jupiter and Uranus met in Kṛttikā was in 1941, which saw the U.S. enter WW2 after the surprise attack on Pearl Harbour.
Now, before you freak out at the prospect of Armageddon, there are other transits currently holding this kind of expression back. One is Saturn in Aquarius, which aspects the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Aries.
In 1941, Saturn was in Aries (debilitated) in the lead up to the attack and had moved into Taurus conjoined Jupiter and Uranus when the attack took place.
Yet this does seem to suggest further escalation in wars by 2030 when we consider Saturn’s transits in the coming years, in Aries and then in Taurus, conjoined Uranus and Ketu.
In 2024, Saturn seems to be preventing nuclear-like impulses, although it is not preventing wars taking hold.
Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus move into a square to Saturn in Aquarius, which may feel disjointed and tense in other ways. We may see this in some economic adjustment. While we may enjoy some newfound freedom or innovation, we may also struggle to match this up with the escalating humanitarian crises around the world.
Torus: Clean Energy for the Future?
A Torus (not Taurus) is Latin for "a round, swelling, elevation, protuberance." This sounds a lot like the description of the lunar mansion Rohiṇī, contained within sidereal Taurus, where Jupiter will enter by June 13, and until August 20, before it enters Mṛgaśirṣā.
Jupiter will return to Rohiṇī by November 28, and then move into Mṛgaśirṣā again by April 10, 2025, before leaving sidereal Taurus on May 14, 2025.
Rohiṇī means a ‘woman with a red face’ and is sexually suggestive. Another translation is an artery. The sexual connotations are obvious but it also simply represents growing something that brings pleasure into our lives. Rohiṇī comes after Kṛttikā. Electricity brings a lot of comfort, of course.
The Torus is used inside fusion reactors, bringing hope of ‘free, clean energy’ to everyone’s lives in the future.
But let’s not get too carried away with my utopian vision of the future. Here’s something to bring us back down to earth as Jupiter first enters Taurus: Jupiter will initially transit the pada and 9th division of Capricorn from May 1 to 15.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
Jupiter in Taurus
May 1, 2024 - May 14, 2025
Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac, is characterized by its focus on security, stability, and enjoyment of the finer things in life. It is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and value, emphasizing luxury, comfort, and sensuality.
When Jupiter transits Taurus, this can manifest in tangible, real-world benefits, particularly in financial matters, possessions, sensory experiences, and pleasure. These can be enhanced during Jupiter's transit in Taurus, bringing many opportunities for material gain, increased wealth, and enhanced enjoyment.
Jupiter's aspect to Virgo, and Ketu placed therein, is particularly helpful in assuaging Ketu's destructive tendencies in the sign. For Leos, for example, this may mean Jupiter's transit in their 10th house, with its aspect to their 2nd, may bring some financial rewards. It may, at least, mitigate any financial issues Ketu may be bringing about.
Whatever areas of life you experience Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio, and Capricorn, Jupiter's influence can mitigate the situation, and improve your opportunities here.
Jupiter in Taurus is not without its own complexities, of course, even if Jupiter’s connection to the sign’s ruler, Venus, brings a lot of things to enjoy. We may not experience these pursuits as meaningful, especially if we simply indulge for no good reason.
Jupiter in Taurus requires we look for meaning and purpose in pleasing and comforting ourselves, and to find growth in ways that helps our family and relations.
Jupiter, the "Great Benefic", is associated with prosperity and good fortune. Its influence tends to magnify the areas it touches, whether that's a sign or a planet in a sign. If you have any planets in Taurus or its opposite Scorpio, or in Virgo or Capricorn, these are all likely to experience some sort of increase in the coming year.
Of course, we may prefer some things did not increase, such as our waistline – Taureans take note! It all depends on the houses being impacted in your birth chart.
Geminis may experience more expenditure but they may also experience a greater sense of surrender and freedom. Still, that far-flung resort or long-distance trip may cost a pretty penny!
Whether or not you welcome the expansion, Jupiter is likely to make you feel more philosophical about it. In that way, you still expand, even if it's simply in your way of thinking.
For some, Jupiter in Taurus may merely mitigate an already challenging situation. This is likely the case for Scorpios, as both Saturn and Jupiter will now aspect the sign.
If you have Scorpio rising or Scorpio Moon, you may have been dealing with challenges/changes at home, for example. Now that Jupiter looks on from the 7th house, you’re likely to feel more positive about it because of your relationships. A new relationship may enter your life to help soothe any troubles at home or you may have better relations with your current partner.
Whatever Scorpio represents for you by house position, it’s likely to benefit in some way. You may have a great idea (Jupiter) and work towards achieving it (Saturn).
For those who question just how much benefit Jupiter can bring, whatever houses Jupiter rules in your chart along with Taurean significations, it always depends on the person's relationship to Jupiter, i.e., its placement in one's birth chart. Someone with Jupiter in Capricorn from birth may not feel so hopeful, yet even they must acknowledge Jupiter’s and Uranus’ conjunction as some unexpected, good news.
Generally, Jupiter encourages optimism and a broader perspective, to whatever degree it does that for you.
Uranus in Taurus
June 1, 2024 – April 20, 2032 (expect between December 13, 2024 and March 18, 2025)
Despite Jupiter in Taurus showing a need for stable growth, its conjunction with Uranus, which enters the sign by June 1, is anything but stable.
Uranus in Taurus is on shaky ground. It may break things apart that we're trying to build. Yet this may be needed as new contracts and agreements are drawn up that are better. Uranus' influence is exciting and transformative, often bringing unexpected events and breakthroughs.
Expect the unexpected but do expect wonderful things to follow because of its conjunction with Jupiter.
Now, a word of caution here: the downside of Jupiter in Taurus is breaking off more than you can chew. Add Uranus into the mix, i.e., unexpected growth, and you may not be able to deal with what you have taken on.
You may overindulge some new fad, for example, or invest heavily in some new get-rich quick scheme. It may work out wonderfully, but it may not. It depends on your circumstances (dashas) and birth chart, as always.
In Taurus, a sign that typically prefers stability and routine, Uranus can disrupt the status quo, challenging individuals to break free from traditional ways of being to explore new avenues of growth and prosperity. Cryptocurrencies are a likely expression.
Whatever this area of your life, don't expect the expected!
It's time to change how you relate to the areas of life impacted. Relationships in general are about to go through a change.
It's time to reinvent the wheel. This may be through a new economic system, with this having a knock-on effect on how we relate to our values and valuables.
The conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus can signify a time of significant financial and material changes. This may manifest as sudden opportunities for wealth creation, unconventional approaches to earning and managing money, or unexpected changes in possessions.
These transits can also highlight issues related to the environment, and our relationship with the natural world, prompting innovative solutions and new ways of interacting with the material realm, including new ways of growing and eating food.
On a personal level, this transit encourages us to expand our understanding of what is truly valuable and to explore new ways of achieving security and comfort. It can inspire a revaluation of our relationship with money, possessions, and the environment, urging us to consider more progressive, inclusive, and sustainable approaches.
Jupiter conjoined Uranus in Taurus can stimulate a desire for freedom and independence, prompting us to take risks and break free from traditional paths to success.
Yet the volatility of Uranus combined with the expansive nature of Jupiter also carries the potential for over-exuberance, restlessness, and a tendency to take unnecessary risks, especially in financial matters.
It is essential during this transit that you remain mindful of your resources and to avoid the temptation to overextend.
