In the first week of the month, Mercury and Mars enter Capricorn, followed by Venus around mid-month, grounding/grinding big ideas into reality. As planets align in four consecutive signs, we see the potential of progress through consistent action. All planets are moving forward in February and March. Yet this means we may see things escalate we may prefer did not, especially as Mars, the ‘planet of war’, enters exaltation and casts its sight onto Jupiter and Uranus in Aries. Mars no longer exchanges signs with Jupiter; instead, it gives its full force behind protecting its territory. The exact Mars aspect to Jupiter occurs on Feb 27. Further into March, Mars aspects Uranus (exact Mar 9), which continues to transit through the latter degrees of Aries, having just stationed direct. Uranus moving forward with Mars’ force behind it could lead to all kinds of surprises, including surprise attacks. This may be seen in more bombings, cyber-attacks and/or issues with energy. This could also see major disruption in the coming weeks due to weather events and seismic activity. Personally, this is a powerful time to blow through our blocks and move forward. We just need to be mindful of how we react if something or someone seems to get in the way. As Jupiter and Uranus get closer from February through April, we’re likely to see things develop in one way or another. Saturn continues to look closely at Aries and may prevent things from getting out of hand. Saturn brings fear of the repercussions, which is the only thing preventing wars from spilling out over more borders. But how long can Saturn, i.e., fear, hold things back? As it’s said of Saturn, ‘it doesn’t deny, it delays’. That amounts to the same thing to our linear way of thinking. Mars is especially potent conjoined Pluto but only if we are willing to look at things we may otherwise avoid. If we are willing to blow up something and bring it to the surface, it frees up all that energy that would otherwise be wasted in keeping the same old stories going. Venus meets both Mars and Pluto in Capricorn, an intense time for relationships. This has the potential to lead to power struggles around Valentine’s Day. Best to use this intensity in the bedroom! With the planets of war and peace coming together, compromise may be hard to come by, as Mars is strong and Venus is sensitive. Mercury shifts to Aquarius by Feb 20, promoting a more focused expression as Venus and Mars remain closely aligned. The Sun's entry into Aquarius, its conjunction with Saturn, along with Mercury, exact on Feb 28, calls for an objective approach to realise goals. The Sun-Saturn dynamic is a tense one. This year, as has been the case for some years, Saturn is stronger than the Sun when they meet. We’re likely to see more conflict for world leaders as tensions build and wars escalate. This may be expressed by people protesting so that governments feel the pressure to make big changes. All of this comes to a head by the end of February, as Sun and Saturn conjoin while Mars aspects Jupiter (exact) and Uranus in Aries. The people will have their say; those in power must take heed.
